Microneedling

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling or ECIT (Epidermal Collagen Induction Therapy) is a new innovation in aesthetic medicine to improve skin health by using the latest in skin needling technologies. During this procedure, the medical device works by tiny needles rapidly puncturing the skin, creating micro-channels which allow topical serums and treatments to be absorbed in deeper layers of the skin.   It induces a natural healing response by stimulating production of collagen, elastin and growth factor which achieve total skin rejuvenation for brighter, tighter and healthier skin.

What can Microneedling be used for?

  • Wrinkles
  • Photoaging
  • Large pores
  • Stretch marks
  • Hair loss
  • Pigmentation and sun damage
  • Sagging skin
  • Cellulite
  • Scarring
  • Eye bags and dark circles
  • Acne

What areas of the body can be treated?

It can be used on all parts of the body: face, neck, décolleté, arms, hands, abdomen, and back.  Also, on sensitive areas such as eyes and back of hands.

How long does the procedure take?

The procedure takes 15-30 minutes depending on the size of the area to be treated.

What is the downtime?

Immediately after the treatment, you will notice a bright redness on the skin.  The total healing time depends on the number of overlapping passes your technician performs. On average, patients experience redness between 1 and 3 days. Some patients heal completely in 24 hours.

When will I see the results?

Patients notice an immediate glow to their skin right after the 1st session. It is most common to begin seeing true changes and positive results as soon as 1-2 weeks.  Results continue to improve up to 6 months after the treatment.

How many treatments will I need?

Some patients only require a single treatment (2 to 3 sessions) to achieve optimal results with an interval of 3 weeks between sessions. For patients, with more significant skin-care concerns, such as acne scars and stretch marks, they might require 4 to 6 sessions at 4 weeks intervals. The number of treatments needed depends on individual cases.
